A slight AU in which Diana is still in the closet at work. She's not sure what the reaction would be from her superiors and co-workers,. She’s also had some awful experiences with homophobia in the past. maybe even losing a job or two. So she thinks its best to keep very quiet about her sexuality, maybe even to the point of inventing a boyfriend.
Enter clever and perceptive Neal who figures out pretty quickly that she isn't into him or dudes in general. And lets her know he's cool with it. So she finally has someone she can be open with. He Promises to find out what the prevailing attitude around the office is. Ie: If its a safe space or not.
Cue a lot of not so subtle hints, comments and questions from Neal, leaving a confused Burke convinced Neal's either hitting on him or trying to come out of the closet himself. Angst/comedy ensues.
Characters:
Diana, Neal, Burke, Jones, Hughes whoever you like.
I Would Like:
The team being accepting and kind towards Diana when they find out. Friendship, humour, reassurance. The team being awesome to Diana and outraged on her behalf that she felt she had to hide it.
I Don't Want:
Anything non-platonic.
