No worries about not participating every time! I know there's a lot of other stuff going on and only so much time for fan things, especially since there's no new canon to keep giving us new plot fodder. But I'm perfectly happy to keep running rounds.
The idea of alternating "special" rounds with regular rounds + reprompts sounds great, and I also really like the idea of having a time limit before a prompt can be reprompted.
We had a "lightning fill" round last year and that went REALLY well -- basically it was one-line prompts instead of the usual more complex prompts, with short commentfic or art fills, and lots of people participated. I think it'd be a good idea to do it again! The one-sentence fest sounds good - I'll make a note. :)
One thing that came up a while back is the gen limitation of the community. I'm not saying we should do away with it completely, but maybe ease it a bit? Say, I'd love to read a fic about Neal and Kate, trying to cope with Neal's time in prison. This is very relationship-focused, but at the same time could be perfectly innocent rating-wise. But since it's a romantic relationship, by our current rules I wouldn't put it up as a prompt here. Or am I just understanding the rules wrong?
No, you're right - as per the current rules, that would be too ship-focused to work here. I'll think about it - I recall that when the idea of relaxing the gen requirement came up the last time, feelings were very mixed on it. I'm open to the idea of having a round that's not-so-gen, however; that might be one of the special themed ones this year.
