Boo for health insurance!
Hooray for employment!
At least, I think I have an icon up. It's the "superfan" picture from backstage at CIII where I'm wearing everyone's badge at once. The joy of being the ASM...
As for health insurance, I sent in the form to COBRA on my parents' health insurance when I became no longer covered as of Friday. When I went to refill a prescription at the pharmacy yesterday, I was told my coverage had expired. I tried to explain having the COBRA, but was told it was not in the computer. So, I don't know what's going on. I do know that prescriptions are a lot more expensive without insurance than with. I also thought the point of the COBRA was to have seamless coverage. Let's hope all goes well in the next 6 days.
Which brings me to having a job!!! I will be working at Intel starting next Monday. I don't quite feel qualified to be making computer chips, but Intel seems to think I am qualified and that I'm even qualified to make lots of money. Hooray! The job is contingent on passing a drug test and a background check, but since I haven't heard otherwise I think I'm in the clear. All that's left is to show up and prove I can legally work in this country.
Since I haven't posted in a while, I'll say a little something about what I've done in the last few weeks. I went home to VT for a very uneventful visit about two weeks ago. There was some car test driving (see section on employment). Then back down South for a few days before joining my camping in VT. The weather was great and the water was warm. However, I did not get in any kayaking because of several minor details (no way to get the kayak to the water, the life jackets disappearing, etc.) I managed to convince my family to get Catchphrase much to the annoyance of our fellow campers. We played it every evening and much fun was had by all.
Saturday I went to the Barbie convention with Kimmerie, Brian, and Nicholas. It was very fun and educational. I sitll find it ironic on multiple levels that the only Con t shirts they had left were XXL. XXL at a Barbie convention? And, after seeing many of the fans, XXL still left? Saw lots of interesting dolls and doll attire. My favorites were the Nun and Priest dolls in habits and vestments and the Wizard of Oz Friends of Kelly dolls. I saw half of them (Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tinman, and Lion) but never saw the other half (Lollipop kids, too according to Kimmerie).
And, tomorrow back to VT with Alex for a few days at camp with his family. This time there will be kayaking though. Probably a little more car test drives as well. There are about four Subarus I'd like to try out. Then, back for Selectionless this weekend and then starting work on Monday.
