*melts in the dumb girlygirl way*
i woulda wrote: awww you called her bug! but i know colin don't read dis or so i think...hurmm...

and here, (i've been meaning to send you this forever):

Ingredients
- ------------
1 Cup Sesame Seeds
2 Tbsp Honey
1 Tsp Vanilla (Optional)
1 Tbsp Cocoa or Carob Powder (Optional)

Procedure
- ------------
Grind sesame seeds past meal stage into a nut butter. Scrape out into
a bowl and dribble in the honey. Mix well until you get one sticky
mass. For a "chocolate" halvah, mix in cocoa (or carob) powder - dont
mix will; allow it to become marbled. For more vanilla flavor, add 1
teaspoon of vanilla with the honey.

Line a small (about 4x3 inches) box with waxed paper and press in the
mixture. Put in the refrigerator to chill for an hour or so, take out,
and slice into cubes.

Yield
- -------
about 1 dozen 1 inch cubes

Hints/Suggestions
- ------------------
I dont see any reason why you couldn't use Tahini instead of grinding
the sesame seeds into a butter. However, you'll have to drain some of
the oil from the tahini, or else the halvah wont solidify well. You
could probably let the tahini seperate, and then use some of the solid
part, and add a little oil.

The original recipe suggested to use unhulled sesame seeds, but using hulled seeds will result in a slightly less sesame tasting, and lighter colored halvah.

Enjoy !

i want to try this :)
colin and i made those 'donuts' today, and they were ok. could use some alterations, though.

and you know whats funny?
colin recently got a jar of that stuff and i've been fattening up on it :D.
he doesn't like the kinds with all the added extra stuff in it [i.e. the sugar, EGG WHITES (sometimes) etc] so it'll be fun to see if we can make it ourselves :)

thank you!

yeah i sent him three cans of the stuff and it was all wrong. he bitched me out about it and i've learned.
just for info, coffee grinders work really really well as seed/grain grinders.
i can't imagine my mom not having a coffee grinder in the house, lol!
tho her blender is pretty kick ass, so seeds may or may not work there.
anyhoo, good luck!
homemade halva might actually please el colin (like finally)
:)

hah he's mean isn't he? :P
i've heard about the coffee grinders being good for grinding stuff, but you know what? i've never even seen one! except for the ones they have at the store where you can grind your own coffee but i'm pretty sure people dont have those in their homes :)
i'd like to look into getting one, though. are they pretty readily available at stores and stuff, like coffee makers are?
this will totally be our next project :)
