A Week Late, But I Only Just Saw It

Andrew Keen being a pompous ass on The Colbert Report

Naturally, Colbert undermines him as usual, but I don't think I've ever seen a bigger douche nozzle on TV ever. That he could make it on tv at all undermines this whole elitist tripe he's positing. Holy crap. Anyway, watch that to see the biggest asswipe who's ever been on television to my

Lol, yeah. I am somewhat over LJ, apparently, which is probably good for me. I still check my FL and umstudents, but I generally don't have time for the comms. It's hard to care, really. So I just pop in and say whatever for a while and then get tired of it for a while.

I guess so. Obviously, he's not of the Hoolie sort of Englishman. Those are the ones I prefer. Fuck the prim and proper bullshit.

Heh. Middle class I think is more what I meant, probably. Good thing you didn't go to Mos Eisley.

I'm being lazy and don't want to click on the link. BUT, is he the assface who was on last night? If so, I was watching in bed with the husband saying "WTF is this guy's problem? He's a huge asshole!"

And what exactly was he getting at with the culture stealing thing? All I could think was (for example), now people don't have to travel to Paris to see the Mona Lisa, they can see it on the internet, and only people who can afford that travel deserve to see these thigns - and that gets his panties in a bunch. Amirite?

Also, if I'm way off base and you are talking about some other douche nozzle - sorry.

Nope, that's the guy. He's crazy and metaphorically resembles the liquid waste, post-douche. Nothing he said made any sense and he apparently had no idea that Colbert was joking. Really impressively assholish. I checked his wiki, and apparently he thinks the internet is communist. It's pretty funny.

The actual facts of the matter is that the internet has made it possible for bands like Clap Your Hands Say Yeah to make money and be huge despite the fact that they made their record at home with their own computer. Of course, he'd just dismiss that as "low culture" which is in fact merely an arbitrary tool he uses to disparage things he doesn't like. The funny thing is that Shakespeare would hate him.

Ah, I'm glad it wasn't just me being sensitive then. I kind of wanted Colbert to punch him in the groin.
