I fell hard for Colin. We danced at that dance and I never saw him again. My youth group from Peninsula Temple Sholom in Burlingame got together with his temple youth group only once. I didn't know how to find him again.
Over the years I thought of him and wondered...what if...wonder where he is...It turns out we were only five miles apart, raising our families, living our lives. It is heartwarming to see the life Colin built, the love he surrounded himself with, the family, friends, his business...I am so impressed, overwhelmed and awed. I've even been to services at South Metro from time to time. So near... It is heartbreaking to know he passed away so young and touching to know he did so with such panache. We should all hope to leave behind the kind of love and legacy he did.
Bless the family and Colin's memory. Know that he once left a little girl starry eyed. I'll continue to cherish my memory of Colin Portnuff the boy, maybe even more so now. Just imagine...
