Been a while since I've updated my journal, so it is time to fill you in on what's going on.

Yesterday was spent working with the wonderful friend who is taking over scoring OHSET meets. We spent four hours training, and uncovered a few little things to fix, which I did last night. I am really liking how the system is turning out, and have a couple of ideas for enhancements to pursue if energy permits after I rewrite the op guide and document the workbook formulas and macros.

Went to see the wonderful folks at Northwest Computer Support this morning. They are getting a new keyboard for me and will probably have it tomorrow. Turns out to be a relatively inexpensive mistake (spilling sticky gooey cough syrup on my laptop, that is.)

And my other Northwest company, Northwest Medical, brought me a new BiPap machine to try. It is bigger, a little noisier, and does not plug into a 12 volt supply. It also doesn't go quite as low on the expiratory pressure. On the other hand, it has a backup rate so if I don't breathe for about 7 seconds, it will. And it starts automatically, which makes it easier to use. And it is one piece, so I don't have to remember to turn the humidifier heater on and off. It moans when I inhale, and I sometimes moan when I exhale, so we are quite a pair. Each machine has a different feel, and it will take some getting used to. The other machine was failing to trigger on my inhales, though, so it has to go I'm afraid.

I am having more episodes of choking on gummy gunk at the back of my throat. Fortunately I am having some success clearing it with the cough assist machine and my new super high powered suction unit. But when it happens away from home it is very distressing.

I am trying a new tube feeding formula. It is vanilla flavored, and much more pleasant. And my body now smells a bit of vanilla which is much nicer than the unpleasant odor from the previous formula. Unfortunately, there is an adjustment period for bowel function which is not great fun. Diarrhea Saturday night, then no bowel movement until 11:00 this morning (a normal one, thank heavens). 48 hours is a long time for me. Maybe that's more than you wanted to know, but there it is.

Daughter thingy comes home tomorrow for three weeks! Yay!
