I've had a full day to recover from travel to and from Michigan for the 2010 edition of FCN...and I honestly have to say that this was one of THE BEST convention experiences I have had to this point in my life. So many things just came together to make for a TOTALLY AWESOME good time, and I'm amazed that PCD hasn't set in yet. (Knowing me, I'll probably start crying as soon as I hit "Post"...)
HIGHLIGHTS:
- The biggest contributing factor to my FCN experience has to have been my roommates:
pandaguy,
antimon, and
wildfox34. You three were absolutely AMAZING, and if I ever have the chance to room with the three of you again, I'll do it. (Yes, even with the insanity involved.)
- I had two themed "outfits" for the convention (DEVO and hair metal) which I wore Friday and Saturday (respectively). I'm honestly amazed at how much positive attention those two outfits received in light of all of the themed outfits I saw (including a Ghostbuster, the furry version of Marty McFly from "Back to the Future", and a pimped-out character from the 80's...the 1880's), and I'm so glad I was able to make some people smile by wearing them.
- Last year a fursuiting dream of mine came true when
antimon offered to let me borrow a suit. This year, he was gracious enough to lend me a suit for two days during the convention. I swear, the more I wear a suit, the more and more I want one of my own. Thanks Antimon...the experience means so much to me. *snugs*
- Another highlight of last year was having
tilt-longtail as a roommate. Getting the chance to see him again this year was an absolute pleasure. This guy is crazy. And I love him so much for it.
- Because of the reputation of FCN, there were quite a few "furlebrities" (you can smack me for that one) in attendance, and yet, because of the convention's size, it's so easy to actually start up and have conversations with these and every guest of the convention. I can't possibly name all of the people who I've bumped into that I've had the opportunity to talk to, but you have all contributed to my great experience, and I thank every single one of you.
LOWLIGHTS:
- The only true lowlight for me was the fact that I didn't really get to use my camera as often as I had for previous conventions. I did manage to break my kit out for the Fursuit Parade, but that was really it. I'm not sure if this was a fluke, or if it's a sign that my convention-going priorities are changing, or if it's something I haven't even thought of yet. It might be a while before I find out.
In short, FCN'10 was a fantastic convention, and the people who helped to put it all together deserve a lot of respect for pulling it off so well.
Thank you,
girtygrin,
nikvulper and ALL of the FCN staff members for one of the best times of my life. I'm already making plans for FCN in 2011, and I know it's just going to get better and better all the way around. Congratulations, guys...you ROCK!
