Just wanted to remind everyone that Pet Parade is right around the corner. If you love animals and want to support a worthy cause, please sponsor me for Pet Parade 2005. Even 5 bucks will help.
Pet Parade in years past had always been our biggest fundraiser and we have very high hopes for this years after a one year abscence. If you live in Charlotte or nearby, come down to Freedom Park and check it out. It's a lot of fun. There are lots of animal rescue groups and animal related vendors at the event. There's also Pet Paws Pottery, Pet Contests (best trick, best costume, owner pet look-a-like and more), Frisbee & fly ball demonstrations, face painting for children and more.
This event gives people an opportunity to celebrate pet ownership while raising needed funds for our homeless pets. 100% of money raised goes to the Humane Society. The most exciting part of this event is that everyone there LOVES animals. Some walk in honor of pets who cannot attend (cats or dogs that do not do well in crowds). Some walk with their pets…older pets hang out in the park during the walk. Past pet participants have included: rabbits, turtles, snakes, ferrets and iguanas. I plan to walk an adoptable dog from the shelter in honor of all the homeless animals that are in shelters and rescue groups looking for new forever homes.
