Ah, the wonders of teaching

I'm sitting at work and it was such a long day, even though the kids left at 1:00 this afternoon, that I just don't feel like doing anything.  My kids were crazy today! I used to think the whole "full moon" thing was bogus, not today!  Anyway, other than having a long tough day today, I love it here.  I can't remember if I've posted anything about my job, so maybe I should update a bit.  I'm teaching at Aurora Central HS in a life skils class (severe and profound special education).  We're having to pretty much start the program all over.  We're redoing what should have been done years ago.  The only drawback to it all is that we're having to create everything new and it's getting to be a lot, not to mention that we're just tired!  It's been a pretty good year so far, we have a lot of new staff and freshman.  I forgot what freshman were like!  I've noticed that in these past two years of teaching special education doesn't get necessary  supplies and funding what we do get is a joke.  I hate to say it, but it's terrible.  In Montana, of all places, special ed departments had much more resources.  It seems like my co-teacher and I are shelling out more money for the classroom than we are on our own food to put on the table.  It's terrible.  We applied for a grant, but I have a feeling that we won't get it,  just the way things are.  Well, I guess I've done enough complaining.  I really do love it here.  The kids are wonderful, the staff is great and my co-teacher and I get along perfectly. Ick, I smell like drool! I better go home early and shower ;)  (I really don't, at least if I do, I don't smell it any longer and if gives me a good excuse to leave early....REALLY early.  Oh well).
