I'm so ready for an extra day off!! Work is going pretty good now, it's just hard not having any planning time at the two schools. I got to work 20 minutes late this morning because of traffic, the sad this is, I left 10 minutes early. Thank goodness I did or I would have been an additional 20 minutes late. I was on I-70 and when traffic got bad I figured there was an accident so I turned off my cd and turned on the radio. It seemed like it was accident day today. As I was sitting waiting for flight for life to land and load up the passenger all the radop stations said the same thing--the biggest problem was on I-225. Man, if I had to sit and wait, completely stopped for a good 10 minutes (and stuck in stop and go traffic from the kipling exit to the wadsworth exit) I was glad I wasn't on I-225. Oh, did I mention that I had a parent trying to call my room all morning trying to tell me that he couldn't meet with me this morning? The secretary ended up calling my cell phone asking where I was. What a way to start out a new job, good job Nicole.
Nothing else real interesting has been going on lately. Today was old sub day at killerstrand. I swear, ever sub in the building today was an old lady, and they were all grumpy. I had to hold my tongue and not agree when I heard kids talk about the ladies. One little boy I work with said to me, "the sub isn't very nice, she won't let anyone use the bathroom. She said only during breaks, and we don't get breaks" He looked like he was going to cry and then asked if he could go to the bathroom, I never saw I kid run so fast down the hall to the bathroom. Poor kid! Older kids you can allow so many bathroom breaks and tell them to hold it for 5 more minutes, 2nd and 3rd graders you can't do that with. I'm used to high school and even I know that, when a 7 year old says they have to go to the bathroom, they better go now. It's the "can I get a drink of water?" that can wait, that's the excuse more than the bathroom. Ah, isn't teachin fun?
