Life After

LIfe after Katrina is a roller coaster of emotions. Everyones spirits are up for the time being. We are all grateful for what we do have. Life will never be the same for any of us. There are times when it is so clear these people really have no where else to go and won't have any where to go for at least the next 6 months. It is so heart breaking and nerve racking. You can be walking along and everything fine one minute then the next one remember something that you've seen or you smell something that brings the scent back into your head and it just won't go away and all you can do is cry for the living and the dead. Just because they survived the storm doesn't mean that it's over. They have to rebuilt there lives not just there homes. Where are they suppose to work and live the people who didn't have family to stay with what are they suppose to do live in shelters indefinitely? The situation is going to get much worse. These people will eventually get bored or just plain tired of not having anything or anything to do and that will lead to alot of crime. This is not a good situation at all. What about all the other countries that hate the US right now? they are seeing just how screwed up our "home land security" is. It wouldn't take much right now to really hurt this country and all these people in all the other countris are seeing this. It's not just Louisiana that has been disgraced it's our whole country. Look at how long those people were left. That was a total disgrace. These are all questions being asked out here. With all the pollution in the water are they going to just put it back into the lake. What is this country going to do for all these people? What are we going to do to protect ourselves? We have just shown the world what this country is relly like and it's not a good thing. We did have a good laugh this morning though. They were interviewing people and asking about Mardi Gras and some people were saying how they still were going to have Mardi Gras. Hell those crazy fools still had the decadense parade this weekend lol. The spirit has not left the city.
My house looks like it's own little refuge camp right now. My kids think they are having one big family reunion. They are really enjoying it. You it really is hard sometimes but I really am blessed to have everything I do have. Life could be much worse. I cann't take anymore in though. It does suck but my house has reached full capacity. If they do have to stay for the next few months. I don't want to be anymore crowded than I already am. We do have our moments with that many people in one house it can get a little tense on occasion. All the kids start school tomorrow. Hopefully that will return a little order in the house.
