Ain't No Tea Party Like My Nana's Tea Party

Hey, yo!

Weekend Update!

Friday: Half day, nice! After work I did some errands and then met up with Lil for dinner. We decided on dinner in with our boys from Torchwood. We went to the Stew Leonard's Wine Shop where someone I work with at Michael's was also working there. She may have given us her employee discount. We ended up with Smirnoff Twisted Pomegranate, which was delightful. We picked up dinner at Stew's as well.

It was a fun night, and Lil, being awesome, picked up our Ani DiFranco tickets during the day. She's going to be at the Ives Center in July and tickets went on sale that morning. And since her father is her boss, he let her go and get the tickets. TY Lil's dad! Since I didn't have to work Saturday, I stayed over.

Saturday: I headed home about 10ish. Bonnie and I headed into the city to catch the 2ish train. The show for the day, well actually night was Gypsy. But first, my mother wanted to hit the stage door at The Little Mermaid to get some dolls signed. But it turns out the actress who plays Ariel wasn't going to come out, so we left.

We went to the Virgin Mega Store and then went to dinner at a place called The Brooklyn Diner, which was so not a diner. the food wasn't terrible, but is was just ok.

After dinner we killed time at the Marriot Marquis and then headed out for Gypsy.

This was Gypsy starring Patti LuPone. This was actually a transfer of the limited engageent at City Center that we saw over the summer. The concept and the sets were the same, but there were more comedic moments than we remembered. Plus I wasn't sitting next to a pair of jealous queens who talked during the show, even when Patti sang Roses's Turn, which was a HUGE plus.

Patti was amazing as always, and after Roses's Turn the audience gave her a standing ovation, it was great! After the show Bonnie wanted to wait for autographs. It took almost an hour until Patti came out, but my mother held up, well she did treat a little sit down break, but it was admirable.

We caught the 1:06 train home. During the day I started to feel kinda blah, I blamed it on me forgetting to take my allergy stuff. So on the way home I put on my Rest Music playlist and just zoned out.

Sunday: I didn't even bother setting my alarm, feeling like I just needed to sleep in and recharge. I ended up sleeping until 11:30.

After I got up I spent the afternoon, ahem, music *trading* with this girl from New Zealand. Apparently Flight of the Conchords have 3 albums out there. So now I might be in possession of them all. ;)
