First off, has anyone been watching
Mind Control with
Derren Brown? It's freaky... What's most freaky is that they're all, "No, he has no powers. It's all psychology." Alex and I are hooked. Last night, I think the freakiest thing was the predictions about the New York bankers. I don't want to give it away...but you can go see the episode
here (the link should be good until August15, 2007, I think...when the next one comes out...then it will whatever the next episode is).
Anyway, that was later last night obviously. Before, we went to the KU picnic. It was hot as balls. It was so hot the brownies I'd made were all melty again. (Yes, Melissa, OF COURSE, they were Wolf-brownies. No box-brownies in this family! I'd be freakin' disowned!). Alex attempted cornbread, and it turned out quite well. I think he's going to try it with actual corn pieces in it next time. I didn't realize you should use creamed corn, though...sounds very tasty. Or cheddar cheese. YUM.
There were so many little kids at the picnic--totally adorable. Alex and I are waiting until after grad school to "start a family" and all, but it's getting more difficult being around all this young families. Maybe I'll just have to start babysitting again to "get it out of my system" for awhile.
After the picnic we went mini-golfing which I always find fun. Alex beat me by one stroke. :-) I got a 58 and he got a 57. I said that means he doesn't get any more brownies--brownies are for losers. :-p Mwahahaha. J/k. I could definitely see going mini-golfing every once in awhile. I meant to go with Alex while we were at the Lake. I love the Hilly Billy course up there. There's actually two course: Hilly Billy and New York. They are both excellent.
Does anyone get really bad dreams in the heat? I get these super weird ones. They almost always focus on whatever I watched last on TV...but if it was something good on TV, it still ends up bad. Last night, the dreams were all about running for my life from murders (the first one was all, "You have to bargain for your life"...although, somehow, I "knew" I was going to survive). The next one I knew where it came from...too much CSI and Law & Order: SVU...if there is such a thing. Lol. I was supposed to be solving a mass homicide. I had two others, but now I forget them. They weren't so bad though... It's nice having a cat, though, because he'll wake you up at some point and the dream doesn't go on for too long. Oh, speaking of Magic--he is so smart. He's figured out what the alarm sound is. When Alex's alarm or my alarm goes off (and Magic isn't in the room), he comes running in and jumps on the bed. And then he just stares at you, like, "aren't you getting up now? I know what that sound means. You have to get up now." Silly kitty.
Well, I should be showering. James will be here soon and I should be, well, at least clean. Lol.
