Why, yes, I am still alive and kicking in Texas.
The 80th annual Livestock and Rodeo Show is in town this week. I usually go to the Rodeo parade that we have but this year it was pouring the rain so I decided to pass on going. Rem and I went to the Sat. matinee over the weekend and had a blast. Two of her friends went with us, which made it even more enjoyable. We hooped and hollered during the performance, especially the bull-riding competitions.
After the rodeo performance, we walked around on the fairgrounds for almost 3-1/2 hours. I'm supposed to be watching my carbs (because of my blood sugar level) but I still ate the chocolate-covered cheescake-on-a-stick that I usually buy from one of the food vendors every year. I didn't go on any of the rides but it's fun just to watch other people enjoying themselves.
Our weather has really been unusual this winter. Two weeks ago we got about two inches of snow that fell on a Sunday morning and melted away by Monday afternoon. We've had snow twice this year so far. The high temperature today was 82 degrees!!!! Rem had a guy come out and do our lawn because the weeds were getting so high. At least the weeds make the yard look green.
We've pre-registered for the San Japan Anime Convention to be held in San Antonio in August. I've never been to this one so it will be a new adventure for me. We've been to San Antonio several times on vacation but not for a convention. The hotel where we're staying is across from the Riverwalk & Mall and near the Alamo. Hopefully we won't melt from the heat and humidity while we're there. LOL
Rem should be home from work soon. She had to cover the evening shift so I'm getting to spend time on her computer. Life and work are so hectic nowadays I don't get a chance to check out LJ as often as I would like. I sure do miss reading the fanfics on a regular basis.
Hugs & smiles to everyone.
