Murder or Suicide?
Wow, so I was woken up this morning by the LAPD knocking on my door. They wanted to get the names of my roommate and I and also asked a few questions. Apparently, some guy was found dead on the sidewalk just a few feet from the dorm. He either jumped to his death or he was pushed off. Lots of talk has been going around my hall. They say the sound alarm on the roof went off around 4:00 am so the theory is he jumped or got pushed from there at that time. The creepy thing is that I was still up, watching an episode of Buffy when this happened literally right by me (I'm almost at the end of the hall of the size of the building where the body was found). I tried to go back to sleep, but couldn't stop dreaming and thinking about it. Everywhere I look out the windows I see myself surrounded with yellow crime tape. Out the window at the end of my hall, you can look down and see the body, which is covered by a white sheet, and many police officers standing guard. As soon as I peered down though, the cops motioned for me to back off. Probably, this is just a suicide, but it's still very creepy. Has anyone ever heard that story of how if your roommate kills themselves then you get automatic A's for the semester? I don't know why that popped into my head, but I wonder if it's true? This reminds me of Stacy telling us how people frequently commit suicide at NYU by jumping from a high-up floor inside one library. Anyway,I need to go shower and get away from this crime scene crap. I just wish we could have done something to prevent this...it's so sad.
