As I type I'm on the hotline waiting to speak to a Dell representative. I'm listening to classical music occassionally interrrupted by a woman's voice giving me advice on common problems. I just want to talk to one of those Indian or Pakistani dudes who lies and says his name is Tom and tries to some off as American but fails desperately. Dell, everyone knows you outsource these jobs to foreign countries so there's no need to hide it. Employees don't need to lie to customers! Right now my computer is being especially retarded because it refuses to play DVDs. It doesn't even detect DVDs and it's weird because the exact same problem happened with my roommate's lab-top on the exact same day. The tech workers for our dorms told us that this was very odd and there was not a good explanation. They easily fixed his, however, mine is a problem with "the drivers" or "the hardware". Computer lingo scares me and I feel so stupid when I can't understand anything techies are talking about. I just want to fix my computer before I put it in storage over the summer. In other news, I went to a presentation made by Abagail, an intuitive medium who specializes in paranormal research. She reportedly has astonishing abilities of clairvoyance, clairsentience, clairaudience, and psychometry. Basically, she's very cool and one of the most respected people in her field. She says she has had her abilities since she was three years old and saw a neighbor get his hand chopped up in some machine before it actually happened. It was really cool to hear her talk about her different jobs and I got to hear about her experiences with ghosts and spirits. This helped inspire ideas for the wonderful ghost movie in development. I also specifically asked her if filming a movie about ghosts in a place with paranormal activity is risky, and she said there was nothing to worry about. Specifically, I wanted advice about how dangerous the Macbeth curse could be. I thought it would be cool to have the play within the movie be Macbeth and tie in the idea of the play being cursed. No film I know of has ever tried to tackle this topic despite so many people taking it so seriously. However, people may be too freaked out to work on a project telling a story of a theater haunting involving Macbeth. Jon already told me that he doesn''t think he can help on the project if it involves Macbeth. "Way too much weird shit has happened with that show," he says. Abagail didn't think much truth existed in the Macbeth curse and she just seemed offended that I wanted to make a horror movie about a malicious ghost that supported a more Hollywood depiction of ghosts. She is also psychic and told me that even though I don't want to go to graduate school now, I will in a few years. She told me that I had a "great heart" and was a "giver". She said I had the ability to "see things" and I "saw the big picture" but have "more problems with all the details". She said I have the ability to learn anything I want to so I could "learn these details" but I usually enjoy staying "with the big picture". She told me that I would make a good film director because I can understand the basics of all the parts and can relate to other people. She told me that I've been worried about being accepted all my life and let this dictate my behavior. It was really interesting though. She made one girl start crying because she talking about how the girl shouldn't worry so much about her little brother because he's okay. She also successfully described details of the girl's family and said there was some stuff she wanted to talk to the girl about in private. Very emotional. To Abagail and her co-worker, who was very spunky and talkative, paranormal activity is part of everyday life and represents their livlihood. Well, better go. The Dell Guy will be ready to talk soon. No more classes! Three finals!
