It's been a pretty long time since I've used this thing as an actual journal. Not much worth writing about I guess.
Anyway, I was driven to post something because I watched
today's show from zefrank.Every time I watch it I'm reminded that it's probably one of the better things online. Besides the inside jokes that you have to watch the older shows to understand (and I suggest you do watch them if you have the time), he talked about the science of happiness and I realized he was saying something I had actually heard about, in fact
I had posted a link about it before, and
here's a better one of the same thing. That was back when I took a psychology class, seems like a long time ago now. What I didn't realize is that
the guy has a book out about the stuff the article describes.
The gist of it is that we generally don't know what makes us happy, and that in the long run things don't usually affect us as much as we think they will. It sounds like some interesting ideas.
