Just so you know, I like Virgil as a tittle, too. Since in Inferno he wasn't much of a believer yet his persistent led Dante out of darkness.

I hate open endings yet this is so fitting. ;____; In the end, I still want to believe miracle exists.

Thanks, but that was really me just being so tired my mind auto-typed 'Virgil' instead of 'Vigil' >_<

Heh. I know. It's one of those things I didn't want a certain resolution to.

As soon as I saw that prompt, I was really hoping someone would choose to fill it. Maybe it's just residual bitterness from being an atheist (and therefore the minority), but I really love seeing characters struggle with the concept of god.

And what better time to start than when you have someone's life to bargain over?

Arthur's voice really rings true to me in this. I can just see him, scared and anxious and feeling just a little bit stupid for talking aloud to himself like this, but desperate all the same just on the off chance that it might work this time.

I love how clear it is that he cares for Cobb, and how he worries about the kids, too. Arthur's always struck me as such a worrier---probably part of what makes him a good point-man!

This was great. :)

Thanks, mate :)

Ignostic. Right next door. It's okay, we may be the minority but we're totally cool.

Here's the thing though :/ Prompt wanted dark and gritty. I had no idea how to make it dark and gritty. Since my brain seems hardwired not to *get* dark, on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being abyssal and 1 being morning on a sunny beach in Hawaii, where does this stand?

Just so I know >_

We need a secret handshake for this. Trufax.

I suppose I would rate it somewhere in the middle, maybe a 5 or 6. It's true that it doesn't absolutely scream ABANDON HOPE, ALL YE WHO ENTER to me, but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing.

I really, really like your interpretation of the prompt. It doesn't need to be gritty to be good, and I think the way Arthur is so raw makes it such a heartfelt piece. It's more nervous than gritty, but it's good.

I'm sure there are other things we can also have a secret handshake for. I just saw the meme again ;___; So much A/E!

Ah, thanks. I was gonna post it to inception_noir but after that, I was like...no. No. It's not at all dark, really. More...later afternoon.

And thanks :) You're too kind lol.

Oooh, a bit chilling at the end there. I liked how you've left us guessing, sort of like in the movie.

It's good news, I know it!
