...I like it, though. It doesn't look dull to me It's not horribly bright, but it matches the mood of the frame that's being colored.

thanks. i don't see what the problem is with having an icon that isn't bright. and if you saw some of the other icons and how horrible bright/potentially radioactive they were, you'd wonder wtf people are thinking. or i'm just being a sore loser

Ah, was this an icontest? People tend to like the flashier icons more in those, but maybe I just think that because my icons aren't bright either.

Bah, I dunno. Either way I think your icon's great, for what it's worth.
