Trying to put off writing as long as possible... I know, it's horrible. What a writer I am.
Well, here is something interesting.
1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 103.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next 2 sentences on your blog along with these instructions.
5. Don't you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it! Just pick up whatever is closest.
6. Tag five people. Or not, it's entirely up to you.
I have a whole bookshelf next to me, so I had to quickly glance over and pick up the first book my eyes rested on.
"They needed time to find those few people who had seen the children and might know where they were. Would Dorsey's killer stalk these little children if they could identify him?"
-"Dead Time" by Eleanor Taylor Bland.
It's kinda funny that I picked that book. Ever since I was 10, I wanted to be a writer. I wrote my little fantasy novels in my tattered notebooks, and typed them up on my parents' computer, saving each page to a separate file because my dad insisted it took up less space that way. Eleanor Taylor Bland was actually a co-worker of my father's at Abbott, and "Dead Time" was the first novel she published. I was so excited that my dad worked with an actual writer!! He told me that if I wanted, we could go meet Eleanor and I could have a copy of her book. My dad took me to work with him and introduced me to Eleanor, and told her that I wanted to be a writer someday. She smiled and shook my hand, and said "That's great!" as she took my copy of "Dead Time" from my dad's hands and signed the inside cover. The inscription says:

To Julie-
Women are writing wonderful stories- all of our voices are very important, so- keep writing!

Eleanor was a huge inspiration to me... she's actually working full-time as a writer now, made a series out of that first Marty McAllister Mystery. Hopefully I can make something great out of my writing as well.
I tag whoever feels like doing this, by the way.
