So I woke up around 1 in the afternoon, making sure I got enough sleep to last me all night. Took a shower, talked to some people online and what not, and ate 6 taco's before I went to Phil's house where Bobby, Damian, Bruce & Blake were already at. We left around 9:30pm, and arrived at Jackrabbits during Opiate's set. That band is really starting to impress me everytime I see them live, good job guys. A new band called S.O.N.A.R. were up next, and oh boy. The lead singer is really soemthing else, I don't know what's up with that guy. The guitarist however, he's not bad, I mean, he played a good solo in one of their songs, and it was pretty good! I was sitting down to the left side of the stage in the blocked off section where the fan's aren't allowed, but go anyways, and fell asleep during S.O.N.A.R., the band was just too boring. Miranda noticed me sleeping, and went and god Adam who I hadn't seen in forever, and he woke me up laughing. We talked for a little bit, embraced like brothers, because that's how we kinda see each other, like brothers. Well SONAR ended their set, and then it was time for Burn Season to go on. Allen, Justin & myself all loaded equipment on to stage, and all the guys waited outside. Remember the section that's supposed to be blocked off from the fans that I told you about? There were a SHITLOAD of people over in that section, trying to mingle with the band. And if you were one of those people, don't be offended by what I'm putting up here, just, remember next time, don't walk over there when a band's crew are trying to load equipment onto stage, and the band are taking a few moments to get ready, k? Damien was really hating the music that they were playing, as was myself, it was just gay. Justin ran to his truck and got the Re-release of Deftones "White Pony" and gave that to the sound guy, and it kinda set the mood for the guys. There were some technical difficulties with one of the amps, seems that some jackoff motherfucker messed with it earlier in the day and fucked it up, so Kevin suggested for the effects, that they do it old school style, and it seemed to work. One thing that didn't work though were the Adapts, the intro music you hear during the beginning of a song, or the music in the middle of the song, that can't be played from a guitar or bass or drums. So Burn Season's set started, and although I can't remember the setlist, Kevin started off the first song with a whining-guitar effect used with the guitar pick by moving it up and down the guitar slowly, then the band just went off from there. It has been awhile since Burn Season have played a show, and the fans were definetly ready to hear some of the new stuff, which sounded good by the way. The first couple of songs the fans weren't really feeling as far as going into a moshpit mode, but by the 3rd or 4th one, it was all hell from there. Justin ran over into the pit and it was about 8 or so kids in there just goin' nuts. Burn Season's new songs sounded extremely good, and there were a few changes to some of the songs lyrically & musically, it was great. Well the set ended, and we all kinda mingled with everyone afterwards and Me & Bobby made our way to Phil's house about an hour after the show. I was just tired and ready to pass out, so I tried to stay awake by watching whatever was on TV, forget what I was watching. Cari Dawn showed up rather late with Lee, which I was happy to see both of them there & at the show. Cari told me that I was gonna have to pick her up at Planet Fest the next day, and spin in a circle to make everyone knew we were the nerdy PDA geeks. I picked her up at Jackrabbits and was benching her, and I did that the next day at Planet Fest too. So I got home around 4 in the morning, and decided that if I went to sleep that I wouldn't wake up until about 4pm the next day. So I took a shower, sat in my chair and watched infomercials all night and a few music videos here and there. I did end up passing out around 9 or so, and maybe got like an hour or two of sleep, just enough to make sure that I would be alright @ Planet Fest.

I woke up 11pm on the dot to my Mom telling me that Allison just called and that she'd call back in a few more minutes. I called and called and called her but got no answer, then she called back and told me she was in the shower. She finally arrived around 2pm, which was alright because I didn't really wanna see the first two bands. We stopped at Taco Bell and she ordered a taco & some potato wedges, a drink, and a drink for me. We made our way downtown to Metro Park where the festivities were under way. A shocking large group of people arrived at the show the same time we did, I guess they all had the same kind of idea. When we got there, the band Future Leaders of the World, who to me, sound like a mix between Puddle of Mudd, TRUSTcompany & Smile Empty Soul. Every year a band like that comes out, and it gets annoying as hell quick. Oh well, they'll put out 2 more songs, and be done for, and nobody will remember them in Sprin 2005. Anyways. So Authority Zero were up next, who I was excited to see again after their set last year really impressed me. Me & Allison met up with her friend Carolyn, who is a Southern Sweetie, really nice. We made our way to her nicely layed out bed sheet and sat around in the baking sun for a little while. We walked around to see if we could find the Authority Zero Merch tent so I could meet up with Jeanine, but we didn't see it at first. We made our way back there and about 10 minutes later Allison spotted it on the other side of the field. So I went up and met Jeanine, with her hat that she stole from Jim awhile back, but gave back, and had later returned with "I now own your head" written on the inside and his signature in it. She's a really sweet gal, and works with a friend of mine named Ryan. Well then we went back over to sit down and kinda talked for a little bit, and I met Carolyn's cousin & his friend. Turns out that I knew him since he posts on the Burn Season message board, and is on the street team that I run. After a little while Me & Carolyn went and stood in line to meet Authority Zero, and I stood there for a good 45 minutes. Carolyn went to sit down and a nice kid held my spot for me while I ran back and got her. While standing in line I decided that I'll just buy the CD now from the FYE stand. An FYE employee told me to goto the front of the line, and I said "huh?!", and she said "You bought a CD, go ahead", and I said "no thanks, I don't wanna skip anybody." So I got there and opened the CD, pulled the booklet out for the guys to sign, and said "What's up guy's, I'm a friend of Rachel's", Jason & Jim were like "cool!, where is she anyways?!", and I said "I'm not sure, she told me but I forgot" I then thanked them for the show, and made my way down to Bill & Jeremy (Rachel's brother). I told Jeremy I'm a friend, and he was happy to meet a friend of Rachel's. I asked him where she was, and he replied with "I've been talking to her all day on the cell phone, she's at some cheerleading competition and is a captain", or something along those lines. Rachel later showed up and told me they won, so, congrats Rachel! I then went and sat back down and gave Allison my CD to hold in her purse so I wouldn't lose it. Some where around that time I bumped into Bobby's parents, and I decided to hang out with them the rest of the night since Allison, Carolyn & Jolley decided to go up to the gate closer to the stage. I forgot to mention that an old friend from Publix showed up and hung out with us the rest of the night. I also bumped into Rachel, Joy & Moriah, and Emily, Jaun. I saw Lee & Cari Dawn as well, and I met Cari's little cute friend again, who I had met the night before. I wasn't very impressed with Saliva, so I won't talk about them. I watched Chevelle, who really disappointed me since Pete wasn't singing all his lyrics live, but instead the music made up for it. Also, whoever was doing sound yesterday for Planet Fest did a SHITTY job. I was less then 50 yards away from one of the 50 foot tall speakers and didn't have to yell to make sure Big Bob (Bobby's Dad) could hear me, I was just talking in a normal tone. Sam from Chevelle, with his junior sized mo-hawk, called the ladies who were dancing up on the party bus out in the crowd to come dance with them up on stage. I walked over by them at one point and waved, and they all showed me and my friend their thongs, blew a kiss, waved, and winked, very nice girls. So Papa Roach were up next, and their set was by far the best, Authority Zero's set came in 2nd to me. Jacoby was glad to be back in Jacksonville, and kept mentioning the fact over and over again. They played an emotional set, and a few of their new songs. The crowd really went wild for "Getting Away With Murder" & "Last Resort", their last song. They also played "Not Listening", "Done With You", "Scars" & another one I can't remember. This album has atleast 4 or 5 good songs that could all be singles on it, good job guys & Howard Benson. So after the show was over I didn't have any trouble finding Allison & Carolyn, Jolley disappeared and left earlier to dodge the crowd & traffic. I got home around 9 something, and was online for maybe a few minutes, not very long, I took a shower, and got in bed and passed out. I woke up today around 11 am, and I'm kinda feeling shitty, but it was all worth it. Okay, I'm done with my weekend review, hope you read it all.
