in 48hours I'll be on a flight back to the states.
I really just want to stay in Paris forever.
talked to Amy's boyfriend Josh about parents and family and my situation, surprisingly constructive. sometimes I get so frustrated with him, then this kind of conversation happens and I remember why we get along so well.
been watching terrible tv and packing all day.
bal des sapeurs pompiers tonight with Sarah, last time I'm going to see her before I leave; going to miss her.
I need to get more psyched for Boston. things to look forward to:
1. my own cello (vs. that horrendous rental piece of plywood and its bow that should have been rehaired 2years ago)
2. icecream smith
3. Max (who I will eventually see) / the lion's share of my friends
4. family reunion-> cousins unseen since christmas 2008
5. baby sister Catherine is Fagin in Oliver (which I get to see next weekend!)
6. save money (free food and salvation army)
7. school in 6weeks
8. beach/my bike
9. LSAT prep (woo?)
10. the white car (and teaching Catherine/Elizabeth to drive)
I might actually fit all of my stuff into my suitcases (novel concept).
I convinced myself to sell some of my books (painful process, erasing my notes was the worst part). I got 27euros... in chèques Gilbert Jeune... and proceeded to spend the next hour and 38euros on more books.
despite the apparent counterintuitive..ness of this action, I'm pretty excited for these books!
Céline: Rigodon, Mort à crédit
Yourcenar: Un Homme obscur, Mémoires d'Hadrien
Proust: Du Côté de chez Swann
and for my dad-- Maupassant: Le Horla and
Hugo: Notre Dame de Paris
plus an agenda (french planners are just SO much better)
should probably shower and change for the party tonight.
meh.
last night was awesome though. fireworks, barbecue, debate on the burqa with a 4th year law student, icecream, so much (good) red wine etc. etc. etc.
