im too tired to internet
ive been working on the regular now for a couple months.
ive gone into an apprenticeship program for electricians. i enjoy working, but i find working in 110 heat index to be straining.
we have been digging trenches for electrical conduit for the last two weeks, and i get so sweaty i can feel water in my work boots moving around as i walk.
ever been in the shower and let the water run down your head to your nose and chin? of course, unless youre a dirty bastard. it kind of starts like that. the salty sweat gets in my eyes and blinds me for a few moments until i reach up with dirty hands and rub them full of sand. my skin has gone from white to red, red to burned, peeling to golden, golden to dark brown.
i drink 3quarts of water every hour for 8 hours and dont piss until im just about to go to sleep at night. i average about 2 pisses a day. i can never satiate my thirst.
i also look like a raccoon from wearing sun glasses. so i try to wear them all the time even when im in a store or a restaurant even at the threat of appearing like a douche bag. oh, and to make matters worse, i shaved today after having some yard on my face for the last week... half my face is not the same color.
but nothing feels better than a completed job.
and there seems to be a little more respect in this world for a dirt stained 24 year old with cut up hands and sun kissed skin than for a man in a suit...at least here in the dirty south.
