HAPPY HO- whatcha mean it's only the 4th?!

Yep, I saw hannahkp93 's post on her favorite christmas/holiday songs, which made me realize that while Halloween and New Year are MY personal favorites, I seem to REALLY like a lot of those rock-a-billy/faster songs. LOL

So a list with youtube videos of MY favorites.

Why yes, I AM cramming a lot of holiday-hoo-ha down your throat, but here's some egg-nog with EXTRA RUM for y'all to wash it down... Or if you don't like eggnog, go out and get some booze or cider. :)

1.) Jingle Bell Rock- by Bobby Helms

SERIOUSLY, don't ask me why this song is one of my favorites, because I don't really know myself- it appeals both to my dancer side and to that OMFG-I-LOVE-THE-OLDIES! side. But it's a song that doesn't want to put me to SLEEEEPPPP, but I loved growing up and having my dad grab my hands and putting my feet on top of his and we "dance" to this song.

THEN I LEARNED SWING DANCING.

When I have a partner at the parties that my family's notorious for the christmas holidays and dancing and all those jazzes, we'd have a ball dancing to this song. :)

My guy and I have so much fun just dancing to this song, so yeah, it's good memories for me more than a reason why this song should be appealing to you- but DON'T JUDGE MEEEEE!

2.) Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree- Amy Grant version

Again, it's basically a fun/upbeat/HEY, LET'S DO SOMETHING FUNNNNN song.

But I always listen to this when I'm decorating or cooking Christmas crap, because it's one of those hip-moving songs. :)

3.) White Christmas- Bing Crosby from the movie Holiday Inn

I've always LOVED Bing Crosby's voice, even though he's far too old for my generation to really listen to, but I'm an old, odd soul.

His voice is so different that what I hear today..*scowls* . tenor, tenor, PRE-TEEN tenor, and so he's always refreshing to me.

This song also appeals to me in two ways: 1.) It's very whimsical and dreamy, and underneath my sarcastic, realist BITCH side, I'm a dreamer and A LITTLE, A LITTLE, okay, maybe SOMEWHAT *hmph* of a ROMANTIC, so this song makes me just sit down and either play along on the piano or guitar or just sit in front of my dad's fireplace, closing my eyes and just losing myself in the imagery of the lyrics.

Also, we DON'T get white Christmases here in Southern Cali, and I've always hated dealing with Cali weather, which is why we sometimes escape to places like Lake Tahoe for the holidays; even if we get snowed in or complain about the snow and the ice and the sleet, I still rather deal with snow, because it's a major requirement of Christmas in my opinion.

4.) SIlver Bells- Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney

In my opinion, this is one of the best duo of the Christmas songs.

This song also appeals to that dreamer in me. :)

5.) Run Run Rudolph- Chuck Berry

This song just makes me giggle. :)

And I'm fond of Elvis and other oldie, classic songs, and "I'll Be Home for Christmas (If Only In My Dreams)" and "Blue Christmas"- which both of those songs REALLY REALLY make me wanna write fanfiction, or fiction...

Should I? Shouldn't I? DE-LIMMAHSSSS

But yeah, how are you, guys? :)

songs, holidays, christmas
