Classes are going well. In Japanese I'm really excited because I learned a lot of new random vocabulary in Japan, and we use it in class sometimes. In French, I feel I participate pretty well in the class discussions, which are fun. In math I work myself to the bone, fun times.
JCon meeting was fun, kinda long, but we got a lot of stuff done and it was cool. A lot of good ideas and people contributing to discussions. I'm chairperson of the sister club committee, so I probably need to look into finding out who would make good candidates for sister clubs, reading that section of the constitution some more, and asking the club if they have any ideas. Fun times. I don't think I actually do anything unless the club decides that they want a certain club to be our sister club, in which case it's a lame duck committee. We'll figure all of that stuff out in meetings to come.
Uhhhh other news? Showings start on this Friday and I'm excited. There were tons of good series nominated, so not all of them got in, but I think we have a pretty solid lineup. I'm worried that people might be rowdy during Ghost Stories, just because it seems like that sort of show, but I think Molly is more than capable of getting people to shut up :D. Quiet showing rooms a happy Dikis makes. I'm kinda iffy on Samurai 7. I don't want to be swayed just because I like the movie. I mean, Ghibli's latest movie was based on a book (Tales of Earthsea), which is supposed to be amazing and has a huge fanbase--but the Ghibli rendering of it is supposedly a big flop. I'll reserve my judgement untill I see it, but it's just a case in point-- great base material, but different interpretation. We'll see, we'll see. I've seen clips from it, I think, and the art looks pretty fun, so I think I'll enjoy the visuals, if nothing else. I might write up little blurbs on the series we're showing and give them to Abi after Friday. I'll try not to be too critical :D
