Summary: Jaebum is not pleased with the choreography of "10 out of 10".
A/N: It’s all about hygiene, or maybe it’s something else. Interpret it as you please.
It had been a week since the addition of some new steps to the choreography of “10 out of 10”. The installation included a part in which Jaebum jumps onto the arms of the other members and they, in turn, toss him back as he performs a flip and lands with ease. The other addition is the infamous part when Taecyeon either rests his hands suggestively on the butts of two other 2PM members or in some performances, when he smacks Chansung’s butt then grins like an idiot.
Overall, the addition had received a lot of positive reaction from the fans, especially from the fan girls. 2PM’s fans rose up to 2% higher and JYP could not be more pleased. More and more people tuned in to watch the broadcasts of 2PM’s live performances.
“It’s Taecyeon’s part. That part when he rubs his hands all over Nichkhun’s and Wooyoung’s butts. That’s why we’re so popular nowadays.” Junsu declared after contemplating the reason behind their recent success. The other boys nodded fervently in agreement as words poured out of their mouths simultaneously to support Junsu’s point. Taecyeon just laughed as he heard terms like “fan service”, “greasy” and “sexy” being tossed out among the members.
“It’s not like that,” he shrugged coolly, only to have the rest of 2PM attacked him, demanding for what other possible reason behind their new accomplishment. While Taecyeon could name a few other, he could not help but acknowledge that the fan service had something to do with their fame. Ever since the new steps were added in, many more people noticed him. Girls, more so than ever, giggled in his direction. He received more gifts from fans, doubled in quantities compared to the days when he just debuted. His name, and 2PM’s became a popular search on the Internet. There was no denying that the new dance steps had some contribution to 2PM’s and Taecyeon’s latest reputation.
JYP was happy. Taecyeon was happy. 2PM members were happy-only when their butts were not the victims of Taecyeon’s hands. Wooyoung, Nichkhun, Chansung and Junho had their share of butt violation, and often felt that their butts were the price to pay for fame. They swallowed their pride and sacrificed away.
However, among all the happiness and fame, there was one extremely irritated member. Jaebum, who began to drop his smile immediately after every of their performance, who watched reruns of their live performances broadcasts while frowning disdainfully, who began to jeer at Taecyeon every chance he got, was irritated beyond explanation.
“Hyung, you want some food?” Taecyeon asked one day, after a performance, waving a sandwich wrapped neatly in a plastic bag in front of Jaebum.
“Did you wash your hands?” Jaebum replied crossly, looking past the sandwich being offered.
“No, but…”
“Go wash your hands.”
A few protests and demands after, Taecyeon found his hands being rubbed vigorously by Jaebum with warm water and some orange-scented liquid hand soap.
“Hyung, it’s not dirty…” Taecyeon argued weakly. It was a battle that he had already lost.
“Wooyoung might have farted at that part on stage…”
“That’s ridiculous.”
Silence fell upon them and Taecyeon can only hear the sound of water splattering on his and his hyung’s hands.
“I don’t like the new dance. It’s vulgar,” Jaebum explained flatly, emphasizing a lot on ‘vulgar’.
“It’s fine. Just some fan service…”
There was another moment of silence before Jaebum spoke again,
“When will we have more live performances?”
“Um… Tomorrow and all of next week,” Taecyeon replied hesitantly, unsure of the sudden change in subject.
Jaebum contemplated, then slowly came to a conclusion,
“Wash your hands after every performance.”
Jaebum glowered when Taecyeon let out a loud “What?” followed by many other questions and a lot of confusion.
“From now on, you have to wash your hands after all the performances,” Jaebum repeated nonchalantly as he wrapped Taecyeon’s hands in a large and very absorbent paper towel. Ignoring all of Taecyeon’s protests and his reasoning that it was not necessary because he never actually touched the other members’ butts, just the clothes covering that part, Jaebum adamantly requested his junior to follow his demand.
“If it was me, you wouldn’t have to clean your hands. But I’m sure the choreographer won’t allow Khun or Wooyoung to switch with me, since I’m the only one who can actually do a decent flip,” Jaebum said, tossing the paper towel into a near-by waste basket, grinning smugly to himself, “So just wash your hands from now on, okay?”
Jaebum left the washroom as the make-up noona called for him, leaving a dazed Taecyeon to consider what he just said.
