Last time I went over, it was temporary (only planned to stay 4 months, ended up staying 10), so I simply used luggage on the airline. Amazingly, I kept it to one giant suitcase and a small backpack as my carry-on.
This time around, I know I'll be there longer (at least 2 yrs), plus I'm wiser for the stuff to/not bring. I will definitely be sending all my books over via M-Bags, because that took up a lot of room & weight in my luggage last time (and I have even more now - a lot of books I'll need for my Master's work). Other than that, I plan on using my giant suitcase again, plus probably checking another bag (since we DO get 2). I'll bring slightly different clothes & shoes. Less "extras", since while it is expensive to buy them again over there, it's almost worth it to not have to mess with coming over with them (I'm talking extra toiletries, bath towel, stuff like that).
I'm just hoping I get an address before I go, so I can mail the M-Bags well before I leave. Otherwise, I'll have to get my mom to do it after I'm already over there, and it'll take longer to get my precious books.
