I don't think I've seen a fic where Dominic is promoted into his position. And if I have and don't remember, it probably wasn't over the dead body of his boss with Adelle holding the murder weapon. I like the idea and the imagery tying that event to his last pre-Attic moment.

I always wondered how he got to that position, what he'd had to do as a spy to even get into Rossum. He may have been Adelle's chief of security for three years before "A Spy In The House of Love" but how long had he been with Rossum before that? It's just those kinds of thoughts that drove this fic.

Also, Adelle doesn't tolerate any feckery from her staff. I think she viewed the Attic as the ultimate price to pay, so o'course Dominic had to pay it. (Death is mercy.)

Oh - that's chilling and the use of the blood is really powerful - she really is dangerous. Beautifully written.

Excellent! I love seeing origin stories and I loved how the image of Adelle covered in blood both began and ended his relationship with Adelle.

Thanks! (Also, I'm amused that you're wearing an icon I made. I love it when that happens!)

I loved the use of mirroring so much, and your use of language was really good.
