DRABBLE

my debut into the world of (kinda-sorta) writing fic for BSG! \o/

Summer
One-shot
Gaius/Caprica
PG
Summary: On the night of the summer solstice, without warning, he takes her to the pale shores of Caprica’s beaches.
Warnings: Gaius is...vaguely a jerk? also, I wrote most of this at work, in under an hour. unbeta'd pretension ahoy.

I can’t deal with the indistinct boundaries of a relationship full of surprises. I hope you understand. )

battlestar galactica, gaius/caprica, writing, fiction

Here from 13th_tribe. *waves*

This is lovely, the language of it and the way Caprica is falling in love and doesn't even know it because it's so alien to her understanding.

Thank you for linking it. :)

This is really, really beautiful. Love through a Cylon's eyes. I adore Caprica's wonder at all of humanity, and Gaius in particular :)

thank you thank you.

I think that's the most interesting thing about the Sixes--they seem to be the most awed by humanity (I think maybe the Eights are the most in love with particular humans, but not the most in awe of humankind), but they're also completely willing to go through with the nuclear holocaust. I find it curious that she can be so through and through in love with Gaius and yet so ready to sacrifice him for what she (at the time) believed to be a divine cause.

my rambling aside, I'm glad you liked it! thanks for taking the time to comment. it means a lot. :D

Your writing here is just gorgeous! I love how completely you've captured her surprise and awe at falling in love, without even really understanding what's happening. Really lovely job!

I have no idea how I've never seen this before but I am so grateful to have found this! It is glorious and beautiful and the way you write Caprica's emotions and thoughts about Gaius are so flawless. The entire situation is so lovely and actually captures my heart to think of Gaius going through the trouble of telling her not to expect surprises- because most girls would- and then he actually does whisk her away, and oh this everything I love about them!!!!
