i'm a cool kid who posts the same things on two different journals ;)

i'd like to start off by thanking hurricane katrina. without you the news media may never have grown back it's mother fucking spine. it's sick that it takes a natural disaster for journalists to feel comfortable criticizing people...i.e. the fucking administration.

i watched cnn for a while today. i despise these horrendous 24 hour news networks, but the images are hard to turn away from. they think the death toll may reach 10,000 in New Orleans alone. ten thousand people may have lost their lives because everyone ignored the warning signs. there are countless reports, dating back to 2001 and even some in 2000, that said the levies (i'm really not sure on spelling here, sorry) could easily break from a category 4 or 5 hurricane or even a slow moving category 3. it's disgusting to see this happening within our own borders. we're supposed to represent everything good in this world. we're supposed to be the country every other country looks to in a disaster and we can't even deal with our own. instead of spending the money to protect an integral port of the united states from destruction, we cut funding and run up outrageous deficits and fund 200 billion dollar wars. where the fuck are our priorities? it's funny because the woman on cnn compared this to 9/11. in both cases the administration was warned numerous times of the dangers of osama bin laden flying planes into buildings/hurricanes breaking levies and flood over 80 percent of new orleans and they did NOTHING. and here we are again, trying to figure out why the fuck we did nothing and who fucked up. bush said in a press conference today that he is setting up an investigation to find out what went right and what went wrong in the aftermath. NOTHING FUCKING WENT RIGHT! how the fuck does he not see that? he didn't end his fucking FIVE WEEK vacation until two days after the fucking hurricane hit and new orleans was under water. uh oh, we got us a disaster. help me karl, i don't know what to do! sadly, the media which has just gained its spine back, is just as much to blame because they failed to report anything. anything serious that happens slips under the table. that's why for much of us the levies breaking was a huge surprise. they didn't do their fucking job. god fucking forbid they be objective and cover the things that are important. ten thousand people may be dead, floating in sewage filled water. when the waters finally subside (in what is estimated to take nearly 80 days) ten thousand bodies will litter the street. sure, they grew comfortable in their town and refused to leave, but many were also unaware of the dangers of the levies breaking. and a majority of the people that live there live in poverty. where do you go when you're poor and have nothing? i've lost so much respect for this country. we cant even donate the 0.7% of GNP that is requested by the United Nations in times of crisis (i.e. the tsunami). hell, we couldn't even manage to come up 0.1%. and now we can't handle our own disasters that could have been AVOIDED@! seventy nations have donated to the relief fund, a large percentage of which are the ones typically recieving money from us. we can barely scrounge anything for them, yet they will donate much to help us. what the fuck happened to this country?

i found this online. http://media.putfile.com/OlbermannSwings i praise this man for having the balls to say it like it is. all of the politicians are to blame here. democrats, republicans, any representative/senator/administrator or what have you who stop thinking about what is important and relied soly on their pocket books and getting back in office. the politics of this country are disgusting and i have no respect for government whatsoever. someone needs to tell these people to get their heads out of their fucking asses and to start caring. stop making excuses and blaming other people for what you helped let happen. they voice their sympathy to ensure their good name in the press and ensure that they are re-elected either next year or in 2008. our government is a disgrace. wake the fuck up. i'd love to blame this all on the bush administration and the conservatives. but the whole government is to blame. democrat and republicans alike. fuck them all for letting this happen. fuck them all for being money hungry, selfish bastards. they should be dropped off in the city of lousianna as the director of home land security calls it and left to fend for themselves. they need to see the poor black community that is suffering so much. ten goddamn thousand people may be dead. what the fuck?

forgive my long, repetative, and annoying rant on this. it just kills me to see so many people die because of the ignorance of our government (and i dont mean only the national government because the government of Louisianna is just as much to blame). i wonder if what kanye west and others have eluded to is true. would things have been different if new orleans was a primarily white, upperclass city? i dont know what your television is showing, but mine shows poor black people living through hell. agh, this is pointless. i wish the best for all those people. they have lost everything and i could never comprehend what emotions they have been put through.

i've got secrets my lips refuse to form into words
each hair on my skin stands tall, just waiting
just waiting to let you in
