wow.. i forgot about this..
so i was facebooking like no other today, and out of nowhere i suddenly remembered this account. its been SOOOO long since i looked at this. but since i found it, i figure i might as well empty my head. i don' t even know if anyone will read this..
so, lately i've busier than i can ever remember. I've been working on CAMP KESEM... www.campkesem-sd.org , its a non-profit organization that provides a 6day/night summer camp for kids ages 6-13 who have a parent that has passed away from or currently has cancer. i'm really excited for it this year. I'm on the organizer board, and i'm the student support co-coordinator. which means that we are in charge of recruiting counselors and stuff.. we just had counselor training this past weekend and it was alot of fun. and i got to know the new counselors better too. its a really cool group of people and it makes me really happy hanging out with all of them. as part of the training we went camping for a night, and around the campfire (that was more just smoke blowing in our faces) we shared a time when we all experienced grief. it was really touching. and i shared something that very few people know. to a group of 30 people who most of i barely knew. it was really nice. and comforting. i'm really glad that i get to be a part of this group of wonderful people. i hope that we continue to get to know each other even better.
i've also been bellydancing for about two years now, and am helping to start up the UCSD bellydance team with two other girls. we had our first performance last friday in price center, which is like the main center of the campus, so it was exciting. it went off really well. we're performing again this friday at Sungod festival, the one day a year that UCSD students actually party and are friendly on campus.
Classes are good, i like all of them this quarter except for math 20c... vector calculus... my enemy. but hopefully i'll pass it and it'll be the end of the horrible series of math i need for my major. which is psychology. and i'm also minoring in law and society now. if i have time i might double minor in religion also, just because its really interesting to me. I'm taking a class right now and i'm loving it. i really like discussing religion and my views on it with other open-minded people.
Sam and i are back together and things are good. i miss him alot... we only see each other a few times a month. but i'm happy with him. and us.
overall i'm doing well. things are good right now. i'm happy. busy, but happy.
