Good things going on here.
Last night was that dinner in Tokyo I mentioned earlier. It wasn't what I expected but I had great time anyway. The gir1 hosting it, and most of the guests, all work for the upper echelon of AT&T here in Japan so I thought everybody would a lot of stuffed shirt, bean counters but that really wasn't the case. A pretty laid back atmosphere and everyone was our age so I was much more at ease that I think I would have been otherwise. The boat we cruised around in was more-less a floating dining room with a small kitchen in the back where the crew made all of our grub. Not everyone spoke English but that didn't really matter. We got around it all some how. It is strange how that works out.
I have some pictures but the computer is not cooperating so I'll put them up when it decides to start being a machine and not Johnny 5.
Once the boat docked we got out and our movable party meandered through the city, stopping in resturants and bars, all the while losing a few people here and there. At the end of the night it was me and a gir1 with a name I don't remember, Joey and his gir1friend, another Japanese gentleman and another American guy named Don. Don is the boss over at AT&T and is doing real well for himself as a foreigner here.
The whole thing was really great and something that seems pretty exclusive to Japan. I had never done anything like it America. It isn't something I would want to do every weekend but I certainly wouldn't pass up the opprotunity the next time I'm presented with it.
On a topic totally unrelated, Cory "The Lone Sailor" Wallace is getting married to a gir1 he knew back home. Just a year and a half ago he and I used to run around Pensacola with gir1s we would meet and the thought of either of us ever getting married seemed too far off to imagine. Way to go bro.
