Day 5 and Counting

My plot is running away from me like a yowling banshee.

And I was totally right about it becoming a Gazette fic, ahah.  It's a complete AU though so it's almost like having my own characters.  Except they're awesome.  :P

Unlike some people who are just barreling forward with their word count, I'm staying true to the goal of 1,667 words a day.  My schedule seriously can't afford anything more than that.  I have 3 separate term papers hanging over my head, one which includes reading a 547-page book (that new autobiography, Life by Keith Richards for my "Understanding Music:  Rock" class) and all other sorts of chaotic-ness.  Plus, I'm trying to write a few lines for Lion each day so it doesn't get swallowed up by the madness.  I'm really in love with that plot, so don't worry!  It's definitely going to be updated no matter what!

About the NaNo novel:  a plot is slowly taking shape.  It's funny.  It went from being serious, to crack, to a brief glimpse of serious, followed by more crack.  I'm just rolling with it.  December is for editing (meanwhile my internal editor is screaming at me with a variety of expletives).  I'm not going to really say what the plot is.  Because... I really don't know.  And I don't want to set myself up for anything because I'm just taking this as "writing blindly".  It's very heavy in dialogue though, which I enjoy.  I've always loved reading dialogue because it shows a character's personality and is (when done right) very engaging to read.  So we've got a lot of that going on.

Here's a small (small) excerpt:

-.-.-.-

But Ruki was different.  That much was clear.  The entire Milky Way seemed to paint itself across his entity -- something about the way he held that cigarette, the way he walked with his shoulders stooped, the way he leaned his head up against those brick walls...  It was a shock of color and vibrancy in a world that was slowly fading to winter grays.  Despite the seemingly unassuming nature the man presented himself in, Reita knew he was insane.  Because Reita was insane, and Uruha was insane, and he always attracted insanity like a pleading magnet.

But it was a glorious insanity.  One where chaos was licking your spine and drowning inside your veins.  He knew Ruki was utterly crazy.  He had to be.  Not because of his hairstyle or neon cigarettes or the messenger bag he carried that was pricked with 3,000 buttons that declared everything from RAGE to X JAPAN to RX.  It was in the distinctive glaze to his eyes that Reita never knew the true color of.  They were always changing -- shocking emerald to warm gold, blatant red to soft blue.  He was contradiction and space-time-continuum maladies and a mistake.

But fuck, Reita needed to make a mistake.

-.-.-.-

(That's the "seriousness" I was talking about before).  I'll probably post a crack-excerpt later on.  It's amusing to see how utterly what-the-fuck everything sometimes gets, haha!

Welp.  Off to complete the Day 5 word count.
