convolution is entertaining

Convolution, or folding. The area under one function folds under the other as it integrates over the range. It appears in signal processing in the time domain when you multiply in the frequency domain. This makes the robot voices when you use a vocoder. Also, in probability theory: the density function of the sum of two random variables is the convolution of their densities.
