boring updates

Well, you can tell by the amount of actual entries I've written lately how interested in my life I've been. Some stuff's happened, I guess.

Finished up the temp designer assignment at SeniorsPlus back on July 20th, but left them with my contact info in case they want me for any other little projects down the road. I also applied for the girl in reception's job since she's transferring, and I have an interview for that on Tuesday.

For another week, I'm working at FISC, a loan servicing agency, doing some pretty brainless work. For the first week and a half, I was in the filing room all day for eight hours--sorting loan reports by social security number, putting them in order, and then filing them all plus other busy work when all that was finally done. Now I get to sit at the computer, look up people on a list by social security number, check the information against the list and other program, and then save a PDF of the loan report. It goes fast enough, but it's monotonous, really. It actually could be faster if the thing didn't take five seconds to load up the PDF. Doesn't sound like much until you're doing about 500 of the things a day. The nice thing is that Christine works in the department too, so while I can't really talk to her much during the day because she's being awesome at answering calls, at least we can have lunch together. But she was in Aruba last week so.

One of John's managers had told him to put in for another promotion early last week and did a quick interview with him right on the spot. He was fairly certain he was going to get it because this was the manager he'd report to wanting him to apply, and no one else did. They were supposed to decide on Friday for the formality of leaving it open for people to apply, and of course, some guy from another store emailed on Friday afternoon. That pushed things back to Tuesday so they could interview that guy, and now it's gone on to six people applying and hopefully a decision this Friday. He doesn't think he's gonna get it now, who knows.

More on my actually fun weekend later.
