There is a fine line between "enough" and "surplus," and I'm not making "enough" to just plain survive as it is. Surplus would be very much welcome, but for now, I just need enough.
True, I may not have the effrontery (or the "killer instinct" as my father puts it), but I have to go with the path of least resistance. Literature is just as ruthless as business (more, on many levels), but business yields more, with less effort.
But I'm not giving up Literature altogether, I'm just giving it up as a way of income. I have no intention of losing my words, or my love for Literature. I continue to write, I continue to dream. But dreams are dreams, and bills are bills. Some people can make a living out of writing, I just realized that I'm not one of them, that's all.
