Permit me to reminisce.
thetotorocatbus,
maxwerx and I were talking over our usual morning beer the other day when we came to talk about Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland, an animated film released in the early 90's.
I remember falling for the movie when I was a kid. Unfortunately, I don't remember much of it, although the sentimentality has stuck with me over the years. God bless YouTube. Here's part 1. Skip ahead a bit since the opening credits are rather long.

The animation style reminded me of Studio Ghibli's work. Imagine my surprise when some quick research revealed that Hayao Miyazaki, founder of the studio, actually was involved in the film although he left early in the production stage.
It also struck me to see that Chris Colombus, director of the first Harry Potter film, was one of the writers of the screenplay. Bravo. I didn't like the first Harry Potter, but now I feel I've misjudged the guy.
I feel a sense of ... what's the word, I don't know, completion? ... that the sentimentality I have for this film was only magnified after such a long absence from my active memory, and I get to appreciate it better now in ways I never got to as a kid.
