What Summer Brings Me
I haven't updated my journal in a few good months. I realize. I don't know if I'll update much, but I just wanted to share an interesting encounter today...
While weeding:
some random guy: God Bless You
me: I didn't sneeze..
srg: blah blah blah pathway between heaven and hell. Did you know that?
me: *head nods with blank look on face.
...srg: you should read the bible sometime...*walks away*
me: 0_o
Notes about me: I'm Agnostic. I chose to not make a solid decision on faith without evidence, I'm a science girl through and through. I respect religion to a degree. I like reading about all different religions for fun. Hinduism, Judaism, etc. are interesting to me, but I don't have a solid belief in anything, because of many reasons.
What irks me is when a person of a faith doesn't understand that I don't want to be accosted with information about their religion. If a Muslim or Jewish person walked up to them promoting their views they would get bitched out, but if I stand there unpleasantly hearing them gab on, they get offended. Double standard?
I know plenty of Christians etc. that keep their views on religion to themselves unless we get into a discussion about it and peacefully talk about religion. That's fun and informative! This way of walking up to people and confusing them doesn't help anybody, but tick them off.
If I offend anybody in this post, it wasn't my intention. Religion is a sore subject to me and I had to give my thoughts.
