This journal's starting to sound like a whine fest and a half. I blame it on sickness.

The last few days I've been feeling a lot more optimistic.

But I'm more optimistic when it's raining. That's what happens when you grow up in Arizona.

oh, don't get me wrong. when i see how dry its been, and then there's a long, drench of rain. i can feel how great it must be for the earth and its nature. but i think vitamin d has a profound affect on me. and also,

ps, i am extremely jealous of your living in arizona.

The grass is always greener. Except in Arizona, where the grass is dead from it being over 100 degrees for 8 months out of the year.

That's a beautifully factual counterpoint to my small cynical screed. The grass is in fact always green at my parents' house and they don't even have to change the grass or water it more than usual.

Those green rocks used to be a LOT more popular when I was a little kid. Most of them have gone away now. It took me a few years to realize it was supposed to look like grass.
