Black Sabbath were fucking awesome... can't even begin to describe what it was like for me to see Tony Iommi & Geezer Butler on stage together, after loving the band (in most of its forms) since I was very young. And Dio, what can one say about Ronnie James Dio? What a powerful voice and stage presence for a man who is thought to be 65 (last I heard he still wouldn't confirm his actual birth date) and can't be that much taller than me! I have to admit, I thought it would be bittersweet, finally getting to go to a Black Sabbath concert and not getting to hear my absolute favourite songs, or see Ozzy and Bill Ward up there with Iommi & Geezer. But it wasn't like that at all. They played all but 2 of the songs I wanted to hear from the Dio years of Sabbath (didn't get to hear Lady Evil or Turn Up The Night), and they stretched the song Heaven & Hell out into what must have been at least a 15 minute performance that blew me away. Definitely the highlight of all the awesome bands I have had the chance to see over the last couple of years.
