I had forgotten that I wrote this poem quite a long time ago until I was searching around my writing folder.. How ironic. This piece was inspired by Nishikido Ryo's blog entry on January 31, 2008. Ryo can be quite sarcastic but when he's being thoughtful, he makes me cry.
Yesterday I forgot my homework,
Today I forgot my hat at the library,
when I went back for it, it was
already gone. Regrets filled inside,
wishing I hadn't forgot.
But somehow I know it's an inevitable
process of life. To forget. To make
new. My motivations, my childhood
dreams, my tearful goodbyes at that
one time... I shudder to remember
the things I had once treasured.
But there are only traces
of the old me in its place.
