Hey man, where's your trailer?
Ohh there it is...
Did you forget something?
Ooooops....
Excitement in Hays, Kansas! It is a good thing no one was on the bridge! Tracy and her husband from my office had just went over the bridge to go to Walmart. She said there is always a lot of traffic on this road. You can go to the businesses and avoid the heavy traffic by Vine and I-70 with these roads.
Monday night, 13 Feb 2006, around 5:00 pm, a semi was traveling east on I-70 with a "track hoe excavator" on a flatbed trailer. The excavator struck the overpass on north Hall Street and, it appears, it sliced thru it ! Eastbound I-70 traffic is being routed at exit 157 (travenol/exide) to the 183-bypass, past Gross Coliseum, to old-40, past El Charro, and to Commerce Parkway, then back onto I-70....
Apparently, the boom clipped the bottom beam of the bridge and was jerked upright, stabbing it through the bottom of the bridge as it moved forward. The trailor was yanked completely off of the tractor.
