Blizzcon Tickies!

Aug 27, 2008 22:44

Well, we were pretty disappointed earlier this month when the Blizzcon tickets sold out before we could buy them despite taking shifts on the computers to watch for the site opening up. Unfortunately we completely missed the random eight minute window in which Blizzard sold all 12,000 tickets... in eight minutes. Sometime between 12:40 and 12:48 ( Read more... )

Snap! Gratz you! Some year I'll manage to get to Blizz Con. Oh hell, what am I saying. I'll probably have quit WoW (again) before that happens.

Have fun!

We were at the last Blizzcon too. I kept telling the foxy to buy a ticket before they sold out then, but he opted not to go, which made me T_T

I still use my murloc costume all the time on Shakkra - it always gets really cool "what the fuck is THAT?" comments ^_^

Tickets purchased! Confirmation from Blizzard that we're the proud owner of two tickets to Blizzcon! Wheee :)

Way too rich for my blood, as much as I've wanted to go. Though the only thing I'm really sad I ever missed out on is the Murky pet from first year. Though in a strange way I'm thankful, I've played too much of the game to still be obsessed, so though I may be bummed while the media is going crazy over Blizzcon I get over it pretty quick. The best parts of the game I'll take with me aren't pixels anyway. ^_^

It's really fun to be there though. The energy on the con floor is incredible, and you get to check out tons of incredible concept art and actually ask questions to the devs directly yourself during Q&A.

Oh I know it is. I know plenty of people who have gone. And believe me, I would go if I could. This is just me consoling myself because since I can't. Why torture myself pining over something I can't have? It's a pointless waste of energy I'd rather spend in more positive ways. ;)

Actually, it turns out there might be a way. I was talking with Will last night and he says he knows someone who bought one too many tickets. If you really want to go, I could ask Will to see about buying the ticket from her to get it to you after she picks it up. We owe Jef, so we wouldn't mind providing the ticket for no money and you could work something out with him in the future for it.

Of course this offer is open to Jef too if you still can't make it, although he said he didn't want to go before the tickets were available at all so I don't think he'd change his mind now.

I just thought I'd let you know about the opportunity at least.

Thank you for the offer, that's very kind. Sadly I've already overstretched financial efforts too much and would not want to add a debt to Jef to the list of other folks I owe, (he's already taking on enough financial burden during this move for us). My resolution after this move is to remove debt rather than make more, as I never want to take my friends for granted regardless of how much they tell me not to worry about it. I couldn't call myself a true friend otherwise.

So sadly, going to Blizzcon just isn't a good idea, as much as I'd like it. I do appreciate the thought. ^_^

The tickets are only $100 each, and hotels can be found in the area for $65 a night (it's near Disneyland so there's tons of nice, cheap hotels there) Last year we spent only about $350 total including two tickets. So not that expensive.

Yeah but when you barely pay your rent and bills every month that's plenty expensive. =P I'd rather pay off my debt than make more. Financial freedom = good.

Enough posting for me, Kara farming run is done so I'm off to bed!
