Hey all, happy new year!

I'm looking for literature on Human Perception, specificaly when it comes to Human Interaction. How we interpret the actions of other's, how we rewrite the past to suit our needs at the time, and so on. I've never done any psychology, so perhaps I'm jist looking for some basics of psychology?

Any suggestions anyone?

I think that's more social psychology or even sociology than regular psychology.

There's some research on false memories done by Elizabeth Loftus that you could check out: http://faculty.washington.edu/eloftus/Articles/sciam.htm

Other than that, it seems like cognitive theory hasn't really reached such complex interactions. As aciel said, that stuff is mostly covered in social theory.

i was going to suggest loftus as well. there are a bunch of experiments by roediger (et a whole bunch of different al.s) that would be relative, too, as they're about social contagion of memory.

schacter also has an article about the potential neuronal background of memory illusions, but it's kind of sketchy at best.

like everyone else, i can't think of too many, as i think it's mostly sociology or social psych.

you may want to look into literature concerning mirror neurons and communication. i read an article about this but i can't remember who it's by, but if I can find it i'll let you know.
