Sometimes I wonder if I've chosen the right career, being a writer. I can't write while drunk because just one can of beer makes me woozy and nauseous. Maybe I should just be a librarian and forget about being a great writer.
And seriously, did speech marks become the puncuation's Nazis? Why do so many writers cut them out? I still can't tell the difference between a good short story and a bad short story. It's like 'mmm, I don't understand its meaning and the ending is inconclusive and the formatting looks weird, so this must be on the Shortlist somewhere.'
