Happy 13 !!!!!!!!!!!!!
And so it begins. 2021 is here, but it looks a lot like 2020 did, which is no surprise at all. I don’t mean to be a *Dusty Downer*, but………….
Christmas is all put away until November. The End of the Year Coffin Ceremony was very quiet, but it was still a much needed ceremony judging by all of the offerings that everyone sent in.
The response to Bryan’s light display was incredible. We had at least 5 times the amount of visitors than our normal :) We also received a lot of phone calls thanking us, as well as a very touching thank you note in the mail from an anonymous person :)
We still haven’t received any precipitation at all. As a matter of fact, our weather right now is absolutely gorgeous for this time of the year. As much as I enjoy warm sunshine, I would trade it for a nice soaking rain. The toll that this drought is taking on the native plants and the wildlife is sad. We try to provide as much help as we can for the wildlife, but there is only so much we can do. Because we are a certified wildlife habitat we have really implemented some extras for the natives. The amazing thing is seeing all of the wildlife that use Coffinwood Springs as their watering hole now. In all of the years we have been here, we have never seen some of these animals in our yard. We observe them wandering by our property, but we never expected them to come in. We have a wildlife cam positioned to view the whole bottom section of the pond, and the kids we have been observing are amazing. It is awesome to know that we are providing them with an obviously much needed water source, but it is also very sad to know that they are suffering so badly. Mom Nature really needs to be a little more generous with her water!
Bryan will soon start to create a platform for*The Ackerman*. John has decided he doesn’t like his coffin sitting on the ground, so Bryan agreed to see what he can do. There isn’t much room in the niche where the coffin lives, but he has an idea that may work. The timing of this project isn’t very good for us, as Bryan was planning to start a new huge project at Coffinwood, but *The Ackerman* is pretty important too. I am sure it will all work out for everyone :)
Enjoy your 13 !!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
