Happy 13 !!!!!!!!!!!!!
The state tourism board (Travel Nevada) made an appointment to come to Coffinwood on the 1st. They sent their photographers here to gather content for the 2021 Travel Guides and online publications. Bryan escorted them around and watched them do their shoot. Everyone wore masks, which was an odd thing to see at Coffinwood. Bryan said they had a lot of fun doing the shoot, and that they loved Coffinwood Springs :) I hope by the time everything is published we will have resumed doing tours and having gatherings here.
Mom Nature is giving us a nice warm summer :) July had 6 days that were below 115 degrees and 11 days that were 120 degrees or hotter. This is supposed to be our monsoon season, but this year doesn’t look too promising. We didn’t get any precipitation last year either. It looks like it will be another *non-soon* at Coffinwood. We sure could use some nice long rains.
We really enjoyed observing the comet last month. Bryan got some gorgeous pictures of it :) Now while we are looking for the mega amount of meteors that are supposed to be happening, he has been getting some nice shots of Jupiter and Saturn. So far we haven’t seen any more shooting stars than we normally do out here.
Even though there is a lack of people at Coffinwood, there isn’t a lack of activity :) We have more bird species nesting here than we have ever had before :) And we have even more wild animals stopping by at all hours of the day and night to drink and swim at Coffinwood Springs and the small ponds we have here. And Bryan and I have been getting quite a bit of work done on some long overdue projects as well :)
We hope everyone is staying healthy and safe.
Happy 13 !!!!!!!!!!!!!
