Okay so, I’ve got some good news...and some bad news; the good news is, is it looks like I’ll be going to the Cinema Make-up School in Los Angeles after all! I talked to both my mom and step-dad, and they both seem pretty stoked about it (though, Marissa - my friend since middle school - keeps saying she’s going to miss me). I’m pretty well, stoked, too, to be honest! The school is really hands on, and the teachers are all professionals, so I’ll be getting a great education there, y’know? I know. xD
Okay, now for some bad news: if you like my artwork (which you can find here:
appylaff.deviantart.com) you probably won’t be seeing much after Tuesday the eighth because I’m going to have to graduate school a year earlier than I’m supposed to, which I’m really, really okay with. Mostly because I’ve been wanting a career like this for years and years and years. But, I’m half a year or so behind already - maybe - so I’ve really got to bust some balls to get it done. If I can’t make it, though, there’s always February 2nd - the day before my birthday - to attend the Cinema Make-up School of Los Angeles!
Anyway, so far, I’ve looked for a job and turned in two applications, figured out what I have to do to get my volunteer work turned in, and called the school for them to send me some paperwork (which I just got today). I read the booklet this morning and am completely in love with this school. I’m hoping I fall in love with actually going so I don’t have to worry about getting my undies in a bunch while I’m studying there, but I’m pretty sure I can be successful at this. Pretty sure. :S But...I better be sure, right? Because it’s over eight thousand dollars to go there...
One thing I’m concerned about, though, is, in the booklet, it said, “No student shall qualify for graduation if s/he has failed any examination or has an overall grade average below ‘C’.” This worries me because I am the master at failing tests. I’ve failed multiple tests in every class I’ve ever taken. Every. Class. So I’m really...worried. Hopefully, I can get my mom or step dad or grandma to help me study every night. :)
Anyway, that was a mouthful, wasn’t it? Good thing that’s all I had to say!
