lamaze!

I had my first lamaze class yesterday evening. It was okay. I feel like a lot of the relaxation/dealing with pain stuff is basically the same maneuvers I do every week in my prenatal yoga class, so I felt a bit gypped!
It was good for Mike though as I do fear he will pass out on the delivery room floor, but he made it through everything like a champ! Even the video! The video also wasn't really very graphic although they DO show a girl at the end of delivery who didnt use an epidural. So she was like twisted and half standing and the baby sort of popped out like a giant poop with a shower of blood. That part was mildly disturbing. I mean, I know babies aren't born clean and stuff, but just the WAY this kid emerged shooting out of her, it was a bit bizarre!! Sorry, I think i'm still going with an epidural. I don't need to be a champ and do it all pain free!!
Oh yes, my favorite part of the movie was when they were showing the woman as she experienced "transition labor" and they are all like "this part of labor is very intense...." and they cut to the woman going , "WOW THIS IS INTENSE!" Mike and I both had to stifle a laugh. Whoops!
Of course, the books and the talk did like NOTHING to alleviate my worries about the whole ordeal. But oh well, Kate's gotta come out somehow! It will all be worth it in the end!
